We’ve had a few months to test out the new garbage, recycling and compost carts and the Region of Peel is now ready to accept returns and replacements. We’ve taken the liberty of reproducing the Region’s guidelines…
Repairing or Replacing a Cart
Carts that are damaged, broken, lost or stolen will be repaired or replaced, free of charge, except in the case of negligence.
Exchanging For a Different Size
Carts cannot be exchanged until April 1, 2016. Your garbage and recycling carts need to store two weeks’ worth of waste. Using the carts you’ve received for a few months will help you decide if they’re the right size. From April 1 to April 30, 2016 cart exchanges are free.
Starting May 1, 2016, an exchange fee of $25 per cart will apply. This fee covers the cost to pick up and clean your carts as well as deliver and register new carts.
