ErinoakKids State-of-the-Art Centre Opening in Brampton

ErinoakKids serves more than 15,000 children with disabilities in Ontario each year. In Brampton, the organization is looking forward to an early 2017 opening of their state-of-the-art facility at McVean Dr. and Castlemore Rd. This is 1 of 3 facilities in southern Ontairo that received capital funding from the Ministry of Children and Youth Services in 2011. Services at this new site will be delivered for kids and families from Brampton, Caledon and Dufferin.

The organization provides services to help children with communication and speech disorders, developmental disabilities, physical mobility challenges, autism, hearing impairments, and vision impairments. A wide breadth of services such as music and drama therapy are utilized. Children are supported to develop interests, hobbies, socialization skills, and friendships to help them participate in their communities.

A new “In my Dreams” fundraising campaign is underway to help fund critically needed medical equipment. There are many ways to get involved to help raise funds, including naming opportunities at the new facilities.

In this webisode, we speak with ErinoakKids representatives Christina Djokoto and Shane Burt to get a better sense of the need in the community and construction progress. To volunteer, donate, or find out ways to support the various campaigns please visit online or call 905-855-2690.
