Brampton’s Summer Olympians to Watch

Caught the Olympic fever yet? We’ve counted seven (7) Olympic athletes with Brampton roots that will be competing. These athletes were either born in Brampton or call it home. As you watch the games over the next couple of weeks, keep an eye out for these athletes and cheer extra hard for them.

Brendon Rodney	Men’s 200m Men’s 4x100m Relay 8/16 – Round 1 Elimination – Ran in 20.34s 8/18 – Qualified for finals with a time of 37.89s 8/19 @ 9:35 PM – 4x100m – Finals	Second Canadian to run 200m in under 20 seconds
Kadeisha Buchanan	Women’s Football (Soccer) 8/3 – Played 90 minutes in 2 – 0 win over Australia 8/6 – Played 90 minutes in 3 – 1 victory over Zimbabwe 8/9 – Did not play in 2 – 1 win over Germany 8/12- Played 9- minutes in 1 – 0 victory over France in the quarterfinals 8/16 – Played 90 minutes in 2 – 0 loss to Germany in the semifinals. 8/19 – 2 to 1 victory over host Brazil to with the bronze medal. Tamara Tatham	Women’s Basketball 8/6 – 20 points & 6 rebounds in a 90 – 68 win vs. China 8/8 – 7 points 4 rebounds in a 71 – 67 comeback win over Serbia 8/10 – 13 points and 10 rebounds in 68 to 58 win over Senegal 8/12 – Scored 5 points and collected 1 rebound in 81 – 51 loss versus the United States 8/14 – 4 points and 4 rebounds in 73 – 60 loss to Spain 8/16 – 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in 68 to 63 loss to France in the quarterfinals	Gold – 2015 FIBA Americas Women’s Championships Gold – 2015 Pan American Games Silver – 2013 FIBA Americas Women’s Championships
